Coffees from the north of the Indonesian island of Sumatra enjoy a very good reputation among coffee connoisseurs because they are pleasantly mild despite their intensive flavour. Gayo / Aceh is a small coffee growing region near to the Bukit Barisan mountains. Coffee beans are grown here primarily on small coffee farms. Thanks to the sun-drying of its beans, Sumatra Gayo develops strong sweet tones, but it also absorbs the spiciness of the ground. Its acid remains discreet. The darker the coffee roasting, the more sweetness dominates in the taste.
This organic coffee originates from the Arabica species Catimor / Garundang (quality grade 1, semi-washed) from controlled organic cultivation in accordance with EU Regulation (EG No. 834/2007).
